CremationMatch exists because families deserve straightforward access to honest, affordable, independent funeral homes — without the confusion, the corporate pressure, or the hidden pricing.
Our mission is to connect families with independently-owned funeral homes that offer transparent, affordable cremation — and to make that search as simple as possible at what is often the most difficult time in a person’s life.
We are not affiliated with any funeral provider, corporate chain, or industry trade group. We don’t take commissions. We don’t sell leads. Our only interest is giving families a trustworthy starting point and giving independent funeral homes a fair place to be found.
When a family starts searching for cremation services — often in a moment of grief or urgency — here is what they typically encounter:
Directories with no standards. Most funeral directories are paid listing boards. Pay the fee, get a listing. There is no vetting, no pricing requirement, no independence standard.
Price opacity everywhere. The majority of funeral homes don’t publish prices online. Families are pushed toward consultations before they can get a simple number, creating pressure to commit before they’ve had time to compare.
National brands mixed with locally-owned providers. National cremation brands and corporate funeral chains show up in search results alongside locally-owned funeral homes with no visual distinction. Families often don’t know which is which — and the difference can matter for pricing and accountability.
Online cremation companies with no local presence. Many of the most visible cremation services have no physical location in your community. When something goes wrong — and occasionally it does — there is no local office, no local director, no one to call.
We built CremationMatch with three non-negotiable principles:
One provider per city. We accept only one funeral home per city. That listing is exclusive as long as the provider maintains our standards. Families know that the provider they find is our best-verified option for their area — not one of a hundred undifferentiated listings.
Transparent pricing, published upfront. Every listed provider publishes their full direct cremation price on their listing and makes pricing publicly available. No hidden fees, no “call for pricing” listings.
Locally and family owned. We list only locally-owned, family-operated funeral homes — not national funeral chains. Every listed provider is a real business with roots in the community they serve, accountable to the families who live there.
Every provider you find here has been vetted. We will never list a provider we would not be comfortable recommending to someone in our own family. We keep our standards public so you can hold us to them.
We built this directory to give locally-owned operators a fair platform to be found by families who want exactly what they offer. We will never list a competitor in your city while your listing is active and in good standing.
We will not soften our standards to grow the directory faster. We would rather have fewer listings of higher quality than a large directory of uncertain value.
CremationMatch was built by a team with deep experience in the cremation and preneed services industry. Working alongside families navigating cremation decisions made one thing obvious: families needed a simpler, more trustworthy way to find a locally-owned funeral home in their community — without getting lost in the noise of national marketing budgets or undifferentiated listing boards.
That experience — seeing what families actually face when they start researching cremation — shaped every decision we made about what this directory should and shouldn’t be.
We are not a lead generation company. We are not a marketing agency for funeral homes. We are a directory with standards, built for families, funded by the locally-owned funeral homes who earn their spot in it.
Search the directory, read our standards, or reach out with questions. We’re here to help.
